Submitting Photos to Modelling Agency
Submitting Photos to Modelling Agency – Whether you’re a new model just starting out or an experienced model aiming to expand your representation in bigger markets, it’s crucial to follow these five quick tips to ensure your photos are compelling and increase your chances of being signed by an agency and securing modelling jobs.
Note: It’s important to note that many applications do not receive a response beyond an auto acknowledgement email. Lack of response doesn’t necessarily indicate a lack of potential talent. Modelling agencies often don’t respond if the application does not meet their specific criteria.
Tips before submitting your photos to modelling agency / Coordinators.
- Before sending your photos to multiple modeling agencies, ensure that you understand their preferred method of submission. Most agencies only accept photos via email and not through other social media platforms.
- Make sure to send your photos to modeling agencies that accept models of your specific type. For example, if an agency only represents plus-size models and you do not fit that category, it would be a waste of time for both you and the agency. Additionally, you may develop a reputation for not paying attention to submission guidelines.
- When emailing your photos, include all the necessary information in the email. This should include your name, age, height, measurements (bust, waist, hips for women, and waist and jacket size for men), current location, contact information (phone numbers, email address), citizenship (where your passport was issued), and any agencies currently representing you.
- Ensure that the file size of your photos is not too large when sending them via email. Ideally, each photo should be around 1MB or less, with 500KB being even better. If the file sizes are too large, it may take a long time to download, and your email could be deleted before your photos are reviewed. Avoid sending your photos in a zip file and refrain from including links to your personal website due to security concerns.
- After submitting your photos, regularly check your mailbox to ensure it is not full. Also, monitor your email spam and junk folders for any messages that may have been automatically filtered there.
- Never submit nude photos to agents or coordinators. They are not interested in seeing you naked, even suggestive photos are not acceptable. Sending such photos could harm your reputation and may lead to potential risks.
- Only include photos where you are the sole subject. Agents and scouts want to see you and only you in the photos you submit. They need a clean slate to visualize how you can be dressed and portrayed to tell a story and sell a product or service.
Modelling WorkshopHaving an experienced agent or professional modelling agency do the work for you is always the best approach. However, if you want to do it yourself, it’s important to do it properly. Many new models don’t realize that it’s not only the photos that agencies are looking at. It is also how you present your photos to them that matters. Join Modelling Workshop
